MBI's Acoustical Products Installed at PromoWest Pavilion

MBI Products was proud to play a part in crafting an amazing sound experience for fans at this new indoor/outdoor concert venue. 

Located in Newport, KY at the heart of a mixed-use development, the 38,000 square foot amphitheater boasts sophisticated acoustics and an innovative, versatile design. 

Only the third of its kind, the Pavilion delivers a rockin’ experience for fans and artists alike, and the acoustics are unsurpassed. Together with an acoustical engineer, MBI Products determined that a mix of blackout theater board installed to the roof deck and Colorsonix® Acoustical Wall Panels facing the stage would provide adequate absorption of sound reverberation during concerts. The result? Loud but clear music without an endless echo effect. This venue is an intimate setting with amazing sound quality for a wide variety of music genres.

MBI’s Chuck Splain, who happens to be a frequent concertgoer says, “This was one of the coolest installations MBI has ever done. Just being part of the process to build this innovative structure was very cool. This place is a must-see and must-hear venue.” The $40 million PromoWest Pavilion project was completed in the summer of 2021.

With a movable stage that is both an indoor and outdoor setting depending on the season, the Pavilion is decked out with state-of-the-art acoustical systems "designed to capture and translate the truest experience possible," according to its description. With a capacity of 2,700 (indoor) or 7,000 (outdoor) concertgoers, its design called for installing a unique blend of acoustical products to support the needs of an indoor music hall and an outdoor pavilion in equal measure. 

Special Events 

The venue will host more than just concerts. Sporting and special events such as championship boxing, extreme fighting challenges, charity walks, fundraisers, expos, and more will turn the music stage into a multi-purpose venue. MBI’s acoustical products lend to sound comfort and audio intelligibility for the range of events planned.
